This course is suitable for students who will take the IB Chinese exam and wish to improve their Chinese language skills in all areas. Topics covered include: listening exercises, vocabulary, 10 effective skills in reading comprehension, pronunciation, various forms of writing, analysis of world issues, literary appreciation, understanding of classical Chinese, and analysis of different cultural phenomena.
International School Chinese Exam Preparation Course (AS, A-Level)

International Chinese exams evaluate students’ overall ability of Chinese language usage and their knowledge of literary appreciation. This course is designed according to the curricula of AS/A-Level exams, emphasising vocabulary learning and application. It provides students with ample training in writing, reading comprehension practice and Chinese-English translation. By the end of the course, students will be able to excel in any Chinese exams.
International School Chinese Exam Preparation Course (GCSE, IGCSE)

Students need to realise that even they can achieve A* in GCSE, it is still not sufficient enough to meet the standard of international Chinese exams such as IB. This course aims at helping students acquire extensive vocabulary and sharpen their writing skills. Attention will be paid to students’ writing attitude and process, their cultural concerns, and the features of Chinese and English in essays writing. Students will be able to polish and refine their writing as well as succeed in their Chinese exams in future.
Comprehensive Chinese for International School Students

The course aims to strengthen students’ proficiency in both Putonghua and written Chinese. Students at international schools generally have less exposure to Chinese, thus this course will adopt a vocabulary-oriented teaching approach for them to accumulate extensive vocabulary. Pinyin input method is introduced to increase students’ writing ability.

Chinese Literature Appreciation & Use of Chinese for Secondary School Students (Years 10-13)

The course provides an opportunity for students to develop their personal character and a positive attitude towards life. It allows students to acquire effective learning methods, and develop an action plan for self-learning. It is hoped that eventually they will all become cultural ambassadors who can introduce Chinese culture to different peoples in the world.
