- Admissions eligibility
Any child, youth, or adult interested in studying Putonghua to a national standard, increasing the standard of their Chinese language, or improving the overall quality of their Chinese language and Chinese cultural appreciation may enroll in the courses offered by the school. - Course information session
New students (adults) or guardians of new students (children) must attend a course information session (Briefing Session Appointment) prior to enrolment to gain a clear understanding of our curriculum and teaching style. - Placement tests and assessments
All students must take a placement test. Test content includes basic Mandarin skills, knowledge of Chinese culture, and attitude to Chinese study. The School will recommend courses based on the results of the placement test. Placement tests are effective for one month.
Payment of Tuition Fees
In accordance with the specified course fee, the school fee policy for secondary, primary, and early childhood courses is as follows.
- The inclusive fees for a regular course are paid on a monthly basis which calculated on the actual lessons conducted in each month. No regular course lessons are conducted on public holidays or school holidays, and no fees shall be paid. Tuition fee for each month shall be paid on the first school day of each month during which a course is conducted.
- For registration, new pupil enrolls for a regular course shall pay the tuition fee one week before the date of commencement. Payment made on the commencement date, or partial payment of tuition fee will not be accepted. The school reserves the rights to refuse a new pupil’s enrollment if late or partial payment is received.
Payment Methods
Tuition fees are payable by cash or cheque. EPS, bank transfers, and credit card payments are not accepted. Cheques are payable to "Luk Chan Chinese", and should have the student's name and the month of payment written on the reverse side in Chinese. The payment of every sum of money by or on behalf of a pupil would be acknowledged in writing on a proper form of receipt by the school. Pupils should retain the receipts for refund or enquiry purpose.
